We will also customize a program to fit your company's specific shredding needs. We can shred anything from computer paper, file folders, x-rays, microfilm, computer media (CD, DVD, VHS, etc.), plastic to clothing. Your files do not have to be pre-handled. Paperclips, staples and binder clips do not present a problem for our machines.

We have been members of N.A.I.D. – the National Association for Information Destruction since 1998. N.A.I.D. was founded on the principles of educating businesses on their need to shred, as well as to aid the government in its fight against the discarding of sensitive information and for the prevention of ID theft. N.A.I.D. promotes the highest security standards and insists on ABSOLUTE compliance from its "AAA" members. We are proud to say that we have achieved "AAA" Certification for both off-site and on-site shredding for both of our facilities. We pride ourselves on our compliance with N.A.I.D.'s highest standards which ensures YOUR compliance with the laws and regulations that protect information. SDS, Inc. also carries over 5 Million dollars of insurance to protect your company and its information [includes Errors & Omissions Insurance].

Protect Your Information

Every business today creates an immense amount of confidential information. Trash and recycling bins can be packed with vital and revealing documentation which can get into the wrong hands too easily.

FACTA (Fair & Accurate Credit Transaction Act) Disposal rule specifies that companies "must properly dispose of such information by taking reasonable measures to protect against unauthorized access to or use of the information in connection with its disposal."

Stored records should be completely destroyed on a regular basis. By doing so, a company may limit its legal risk.

Our business is to insure that your confidential information remains 100% secure from the time we collect until ultimate destruction. We are bonded and insured; we use enclosed secured trucks for transportation; we utilize only drug-screened drivers and follow strict policies and procedures. Our facilities are alarm-protected with 24 hour taped camera surveillance.

Secured Document Shredding’s Commitment to Recycling!!

Secured Document Shredding is committed to recycling for two reasons. Those reasons are to continue the post-shredded destruction process and to help the environment. Experts say that about 17 trees are spared when 1 ton of paper is recycled. If that is true, then SDS, Inc. saved over 38,080 trees in 2009! We recycled 2,240 tons of paper in West Texas! We also utilize energy saving bulbs in our efforts to eliminate as much waste as possible and to run as environmentally friendly an operation as possible. Here are some more interesting facts about recycling:

  • If you had a 15-year-old tree and made it into paper grocery bags, you'd get about 700 of them. A supermarket could use all of them in under an hour! This means in one year, one supermarket goes through 60,500,000 paper bags! Imagine how many supermarkets there are in the U.S.!!!

  • The average American uses seven trees a year in paper, wood, and other products made from trees. This amounts to about 2,000,000,000 trees per year!

  • The amount of wood and paper we throw away each year is enough to heat 50,000,000 homes for 20 years.

  • Approximately 1 billion trees worth of paper are thrown away every year in the U.S.

  • Americans use 85,000,000 tons of paper a year; about 680 pounds per person.

  • In 1993, U.S. paper recovery saved more than 90,000,000 cubic yards of landfill space. Each ton (2000 pounds) of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4000 kilowatts of energy, and 7000 gallons of water. This represents a 64% energy savings, a 58% water savings, and 60 pounds less of air pollution!

  • The 17 trees saved (above) can absorb a total of 250 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air each year. Burning that same ton of paper would create 1500 pounds of carbon dioxide.

  • The construction costs of a paper mill designed to use waste paper is 50 to 80% less than the cost of a mill using new pulp.
